Don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)! The problem with the poll gadget appears to be fixed, but I've decided to keep this poll going for an extra week.

Marching into Spring 12

Yes, I know...no woman "of a certain age" has any business appearing in such a tiny dress ~ but doesn't it make my legs look marvelous?!

The bird print minidress is from Target's Xhiliration line in March 2012; the shoes are Christian Siriano "Shanghai" neutral peep-toe pumps from Payless in April 2011. Other accessories are a pale blue headband, blue-and-gold jewelry, and natural hose.

I suppose the appropriate caption for this portrait is "Oh, darling, you startled me!"

More pics on Flickr; dressing will resume after Easter, but I'll try to post some art in the meantime; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)! There's definitely an issue again with the poll gadget; I'll leave it up, but the votes keep disappearing.

Marching into Spring 11

More new clothes! This outfit cost me just $14 dollars on clearance!

Cowl-neck sweater ~
Manufacturer/line/store: Basic Editions (Kmart)
Date: March 2013

Tweed pencil skirt ~
Manufacturer/line/store: Jaclyn Smith (Kmart)
Date: March 2013

Accessories are red bow, pearls, natural hose and Fioni "Hilt" red patent pumps from Payless in November 2009

OK--do you prefer me with short gray hair? Short red hair? Pageboy red hair? Curly red hair? Or blonde, as here?

More pics on Flickr; another outfit later today; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)! There may be an issue again with the poll gadget; I need to keep an eye on it.

Marching into Spring 10

...and I can't imagine a more spring-like outfit, can you?

The red sweater with yellow trim and the red-and-green floral skirt are both from Kmart's Jaclyn Smith line in March 2009 (in fact, I bought them to go together and hardly ever wear them any other way); the shoes are Xhilaration "Sommer" green patent sandals from Target in June 2012. Other accessories are the white hat, gold jewelry, and natural hose.

I think I'm getting the hang of this "smiling" thing....

More pics on Flickr; some art postings for the rest of the week; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

Marching into Spring 9

Sometimes I look at this dress and think, "It's too short"...and then I see how my legs look and I think, "No, it's just right!"

The geometric print dress is from Kmart's Attention line in March 2012; the shoes are Lela Rose "Emiliana" peep-toe pumps with stripes from Payless in September 2011. Other accessories are yellow bow, black-and-white jewelry, and natural hose.

One of my biggest smiles....

More pics on Flickr; a very spring-like outfit later on; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

March Video

Here's the video of the three outfits from Friday:

Marching into Spring 8

I don't think I've combined this skirt and blouse before, but they certainly look good together....

The violet satin blouse is from Kmart's Jaclyn Smith line in March 2011; the black straight skirt is from Target's Merona line in March 2008; the shoes are Jaclyn Smith wine suede mary-jane pumps from Kmart in August 2010. Other accessories are white bow, pearls, purple belt, and natural hose.

I really like that pose on the left ~ I'll have to remember to use it more often.

The portraits came out so well I'm posting both:

More pics on Flickr; the March video will be up this afternoon, dressing continues tomorrow; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

Marching into Spring 7

I love this dress and have loved it since I first saw it several years ago!

The red-and-black crepe dress is from the Kmart Jaclyn Smith line back in March 2009; the shoes are Fioni "Hilt" red patent pumps from Payless in November 2009. Other accessories are red rosette headband, gold jewelry, and natural hose.

I'm trying to smile more in my portraits.

More pics on Flickr; the March video will be up this afternoon, as well as another outfit; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

Marching into Spring 6

Last outfit for Friday, this cute but casual combination:

The pink polka-dot blouse is by Basic Editions, a Kmart line, but found in a thrift shop in March 2010; the red short skirt is by Laura Scott a thrift shop find in March 2011; the shoes are Fioni "Hilt" poppy patent pumps from Payless in June 2009. Other accessories are pink bow, red jewelry, white belt and natural hose.

Do I use this pose too often in portraits?

More pics on Flickr; dressing resumes on Monday; and please, please, please don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

Marching into Spring 5

When I bought this light and floaty dress, I wasn't sure about it...but it certainly looks great here.

The black floral dress is from Target's Mossimo line in March 2012; the shoes are Fioni "Loveit" black patent pumps from Payless in May 2011. Other accessories are a bow, silver and chunky jewelry, and natural hose.

Slightly different makeup here...I wasn't altogether happy with the darker foundation, so I went out to buy a lighter one and, as my blusher/bronzer had given out, I got a slightly different shade for that as well.

More pics on Flickr; one more outfit to go; and please, please, please don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!
