Another Office Outfit

One of my favorite dresses--a comfortable, classy shirt dress from Kmart. It's clearly an office/shopping type of outfit, particularly when dressed up with pearls.

No seated shots in this batch...I did some, but I had the chair set up a little too close to the camera and didn't like how most of them came out.

Accessories: white hair bow, pearl and black jewelry, light hose, plaid mary-janes.

More pics on Flickr. Next dressing? Maybe Friday.

Dressed for the Office

When I first put this ensemble together, I thought it would be yet another variation on the schoolgirl look...but once I had it on, I realized it was much more an "office girl" outfit. The mock turtleneck and pullover combo with the straight checked skirt looks so professional...and the scarf and red shoes add just the right splash of color.

Once again--accessories are blue hair bow, scarf, silver jewelry, white belt, white hose, red baby-doll pumps.

More pics on Flickr; another very professional outfit this afternoon...

An Evening en Femme

It's a long time since I dressed in the evening...probably at least six months. I worked today and decided to get dressed after dinner. So here's my comfortable and very classy polka-dot shirt dress from Wal-Mart.

I'm really happy with this set of pictures...it's the best of the ones so far this week. I don't know if it's the dress or just the way I was moving tonight, but everything seemed to work.

Accessories: white hairbow, gold jewelry, black belt, dark hose, black mary-janes.

More pics on Flickr, and I'll be getting an early start on dressing tomorrow.

More New Dani

Funny how seeing your face in a new way leads to changes...looking at this morning's photos, I decided my foundation was too pale and my lips not dark enough (at least not for photography, they seem plenty dark in person), so I went out and picked up a darker foundation and darker lipstick. I also got some undereye concealer, but I'm not sure that's really accomplishing anything. Do any of you notice a difference?

Anyway, here's a very springy outfit--blue blouse, blue floral skirt, and blue peep-toe shoes.

Accessories: pale blue headband, scarf, gold jewelry, light hose.

I'd intended to do one more outfit today...but rehearsal starts in less than two hours, so probably not. I thought about wearing panties and a cami under male clothes to rehearsal...but I might need to try on a costume, so probably not, again. However, I have every intention of sleeping in my long white nightie tonight...and wearing something femme to work tomorrow.

More pics on Flickr...and I'll try to get in at least one outfit after work tomorrow!

A New Kind of Dani

This morning, I removed the beard in prep for the play I'm doing in a few weeks. (Mustache has to stay, as the part calls for it.) You must realize, this is the first time I have seen my naked chin in about 20 years.

Also the first Sunday dressing in a few months; the wife is on a business trip through Tuesday, so I have some extra time. Today Dani can be around until evening, when I go to rehearsal.

Anyway, this morning's outfit is one of my oldest, bought just months after I first returned to dressing. It's comfortable and ladylike...something I might wear to church, if I ever even considered going out dressed!

Accessories: black hair band, silver jewelry, black belt, dark hose, red spike heel pumps.

And here's a portrait, for a better look at my unadorned jaw line:

More pics on Flickr; further outfits later today.

Lady (?) in Red

Haven't worn this in quite a while...I liked it when I first bought it, but it didn't exactly grow on me, if you know what I mean. This time, I decided to add the wide red belt to see if it made the whole thing come together, but I'm still not sure.

So, here's the deal...if I get a lot of compliments, here and on Flickr, for this dress, I keep it. Otherwise, it's off to Goodwill first chance I get. Will you vote my red dress off the island?

Accessories, in addition to the belt, are the red headband, pearl jewelry, black hose and red peep-toe pumps.

Finally, for today and this week, here's another portrait...lots of digital magic here, but overall it works. By next week, I should have removed my beard (but not the mustache) in prep for the play I'm doing. We'll see what difference that makes in my look.

More pics on Flickr, as always.

Vision in White

I like the clean, crisp look of white...though the myth seems to be true--it does make you look heavier. This is one of my two white blouses paired with the white skirt with pale pink pinstripes (so pale they hardly show at all in photos).

Overall, I was really happy with this photo session...the outfit looks good, the expressions were all natural, the poses all feminine.

Accessories: white hair bow, gold jewelry, light hose, white pumps.

More pics on Flickr, another very different outfit later today

Dear Abby Advises Wife to Encourage Cross-Dressing

From today's Dear Abby column:

DEAR ABBY: I think my husband may be a cross-dresser. Last night while "Roland" and I were cuddling in bed, I felt his legs and they were smoother than mine. I asked him why he keeps shaving his legs and stomach, and then it dawned on me. Roland has sent me e-mails hinting about dressing up.

One year, he purchased a pair of high heels, saying he wanted to dress up like a woman. I examined them the other day and there is evidence that they have been worn more than once. My lingerie drawer is sometimes a mess, and sometimes my clothes are a bit out of place. I believe my husband dresses up while I'm out of town on business trips.

I'd kind of like to see him dressed up, but I'm afraid he might look sexier than me. Lately Roland has been asking me if he can join me when I go shopping for clothes. He does chores around the house (vacuuming, ironing, dishes), and if he enjoys cross-dressing, I say he can wear any outfit he wants. How can I tell him I know what he's doing? -- WISE TO HIM IN FORT WORTH

DEAR WISE TO HIM: The next time the two of you cuddle up in bed, tell Roland you have been thinking about the e-mail he sent you regarding dressing up, that it's OK with you, and you think you might enjoy seeing him that way. It's a non-threatening way to get the message across.

But please remember that not all men who shave their body hair are cross-dressers. And if your husband has been doing the ironing -- and the washing that would naturally precede it -- your clothes may not have been the way you left them because he put them away. As to him accompanying you shopping, plenty of non-cross-dressers shop with their wives -- and some of them have better taste than the women.

Don't we all wish this was our wife?

Fashion Bug Dress

This is a brand new dress, bought just yesterday at Fashion Bug. As I noted in a posting earlier this week, FB is a new retail venue for me, but I'm pleased with this purchase and will certainly pursue further purchases there.

That last shot is an obviously highly digitalized portrait attempt. Accessories are blue hair bow, silver jewelry, dark hose, and white pumps.

More pics on Flickr; more outfits tomorrow.

Dani Sissy Maid

I was feeling especially sissy-ish this morning--not sure why--so I pulled out the maid's uniform...complete with petticoats, fishnets, and black pumps with the metal heels. I wore it without a wig--for the full-scale obviously feminized male look--and did all my housework in it, as well as the photo session and computer stuff.

Other accessories are just pearl jewelry.

I'll be wearing a new dress from Fashion Bug later on...and some other stuff tomorrow. More pics, of course, on Flickr.

More Easy On-line Shopping

A few weeks back, I noted that I had discovered that Payless will let you ship online orders to a local store--for free!--thereby avoiding the possibly embarrassing arrival of a femme purchase arriving at home when spouse or kids are there.

I have now found out that Fashion Bug and the other Charming Shops divisions (such as Lane Bryant) also do this. I've never really shopped in those places...Lane Bryant is out of my price range...and Fashion Bug never seemed to have anything I really liked. But the online stuff at FB seems much more in my line--plus I just scored a bunch of $10-off coupons--so I'm going to give them a shot in the near future.

Anyone know of any other places that do this?

Pre-Birthday Dressing 4

I'm not entirely happy with this set of pics. Nothing wrong with the poses or expressions...it's just that--for the first time I can recall--I look fat in this outfit. Not sure why. Here's a classic white blouse combined with the orange palazzo pants.

Accessories: white hair bow, gold jewelry, orange lynx-print pumps.

More pics on Flickr. More dressing--with any luck--next week.
