Another Look at Hypnofeiishism
An interesting article that looks at hypnosis in both clinical and fetish circumstances. Naturally, we're more interested in the latter:
Peter Masters, author of the book 'Look Into My Eyes: How to Use Hypnosis to Bring Out the Best In Your Sex Life' defines hypnofetishism as “the use of hypnosis or images of hypnosis, to cause or increase sexual arousal”. Lady Izabelle, arguably the most infamous ‘hypnodomme’ (a BDSM dominatrix specializing in hypnotic sex play) and a practitioner of sexual hypnofetishism has written a number of online articles about the practice of hypnofetishism. She claims that:
“On its own, the hypnofetish involves the use of hypnosis for an erotic thrill, that only a fetish can bring. This should not be confused with hypnotic submission, which is the BDSM or [dominance and submission] version of hypnofetish…A hypnofetishist can be intensely aroused by watching someone be hypnotized, acting as a hypnotist, or as a hypnotic subject. Some hypnofetishists are interested in erotic hypnosis, in which post hypnotic suggestions of a sexual nature are given to the subject, but no explicit sexual content is necessary in hypnofetishism”.

July Dressing: Black-and-White Glamour 6
The last of these for this month:
The black-and-white t-bar dress is from Fashion Bug in January 2011; the shoes are Janine houndstooth pumps from Payless in September 2014. Other accessories are a white bow, black-and-white jewelry, and a black belt. Still bare-legged and wigless.
A pensive portrait. I think when I do these next month, I'll go blonde to see how that translates to greyscale.
Next dressing in mid-August. Please respond to the survey at the right (details here)!

July Dressing: Black-and-White Glamour 4
Continuing our summertime tour through monochrome outfits, presented in greyscale.
The white crochet top is from JC Penney's St. John's Bay line in August 2012; the black pencil skirt is by Fashion Bug from February 2011; the shoes are Double Comfort "Madeline" spectator t-strap pumps from Payless in January 2016. Other accessories are a white bow, and black-and-white jewelry. The weather remains hot and humid, so I'm bare-legged. I'm also bare-headed, that's my natural hair.
Only one of the portraits came out OK:

Understanding Erotic Mind-Control
Here's an interesting piece from Salon:
I may go back to this article in the coming weeks.
Please vote in the survey to the right (details here)!
Mind control may not be your standard sex-fantasy scenario, but elements of it are as old as Ovid: the idea of losing control, of being seduced against your better judgment. But for fans of erotic mind control — most of whom share their passions and pornography on the Internet — nothing could be more titillating than the idea that somebody might control their thoughts and even give them orgasms without ever touching anything but their (un)conscious minds.
While most fetishists focus on the body — feet, lingerie, breasts — mind-control fetishists are interested in what goes on inside people’s heads. And, of course, they’re turned on by controlling or being controlled mentally. Mind-control erotica therefore shares territory with B&D or S/M. But it’s also connected to more obscure, mind-oriented fetishes, like hypno-fetishism and fetishes that revolve around subduing people with laughing gas, chloroform and other drugs. The idea is that taking over somebody’s mind is hot, whether you do it with hypnosis, drugs or special machines that reprogram the cerebral cortex.
What is it about this kind of scenario that gets people off? Simon speculates that mind-control erotica is “like B&D [or] S/M without physical violence.” In other words, you can have your bondage but don’t have to buy any fancy equipment. RC believes that hypnosis is sexy because it’s a kind of alibi: People imagine that being hypnotized will allow them to do taboo things because they’re “not responsible for their actions.” This might explain the preponderance of mind-control stories and images that involve breaking taboos: cross-dressing, stripping for an audience, kinky scenes involving leather or other B&D or S/M accouterments and bisexuality.
I may go back to this article in the coming weeks.

Happy Fourth!
Here's a posting from back in 2011:
Last week I got into a somewhat heated discussion with my wife about the story of NBC Sports "editing" the Pledge of Allegiance in a patriotic montage they used in their coverage of the US Open. (They took out the part where the class of kids said "under God".) I argued that we had made a fetish of this piece of much-edited 19th Century doggerel ("under God" was added in the 1950s, "indivisible" sometime before that) and that I would much rather our schoolkids memorized something with real meaning to our nation's values. Asked what that should be, I responded, "How about the Preamble to the Constitution?" I think that is something schoolkids should recite every morning, rather than an oath of allegiance to a piece of cloth.
Well, we're coming up on Independence Day, so I went looking for something to celebrate with here. I'd have loved to find the musical version of the Preamble I sang in Junior High School chorus (but all I could find was the Schoolhouse Rock song--it's cute, but doesn't have the drama of the one we sang). Instead, here's a little kitsch...William Shatner as James Kirk, from the Star Trek episode "The Omega Glory". Like anything Shatner does, it's a touch over the top, but....
Happy Fourth to you all!
