Octoberfest: Tartan Skirt

Our final outfit for October is also the first of the ones for my week of vacation. Since I have the opportunity to dress every day, I've decided to stick to one outfit for each day, taking more photos (and posting more of them) than usual. Today's set is the gray Rider blouse (from a line available at both Kmart and Wal-Mart) and the purple-and-gray wool tartan skirt from Target:

Accessories are white hair bow, silver jewelry, chain belt, black hose, and black patent pumps. I really like the effect of all this--it's youthful without being out of line for a more mature girl.

I also did more portraits than usual and then glammed up a couple of them. Here are examples of one portrait with only my usual soft-focus editing and another turned into a glamour shot.

I'm also doing a video for each day this week. Here's today's:

Additional pics on Flickr. Tomorrow we start the month of thanks...and the final month of Dani's fourth year.

Weekend Art: Super Sex-Slave

I've been thinking for ages that there ought to be a way to do a really good Superman/Lois cartoon and I finally came up with a trio of them. Here's the first:

Weekend Art: Dot's Rich!

I was actually searching for stuff for this idea when I came across the images I used for the Casper/Wendy cartoon. This is pretty cute, too, I think.

Weekend Art: True Tranny Teen Adventures #78

Haven't posted one of these in a while:

Look for even more unusual stuff later in the weekend.

Octoberfest: Colored Leaves

I picked this dress for the fall, not because of its style or fabric (it's a relatively short, light-weight frock), but because of its colors. They reminded me of the changing leaves of the season, with the brushstroke print feeling like an abstract of a forest canopy.

The accessories are a black headband, black-and-white jewelry, dark hose and wine suede mary-janes. I thought their color was a close match to the purples in the dress.

I think this portrait is the best one I've done this week.

More pics on Flickr. Over the weekend, I have some very interesting cartoons to post, running with some new ideas. Next week, if all goes as planned, I'll have an outfit to post every day, and a video to go with it.

Octoberfest: Sweater and Kilt

Here's a combination of one of my oldest and one of my newest acquisitions. The cowl-neck sweater came from Kohl's several years ago, and the long kilt is a recent thrift-store find. Together, they make a great fall presentation.

I think the corset makes this all look especially good, don't you? Accessories are a white print bow, gold jewelry, black hose and red patent spike-heeled pumps.

Not the best portrait of the batch, but it gives a good look at the work I did on the eyes--I started with the L'Oreal one-sweep palette for brown eyes, then added some shading with the white and black shadow. Mascara might want to be heavier.

More pics on Flickr; one more outfit to be posted this week.

Octoberfest: Cowl-neck Sweater Dress

Continuing appropriate fall outfits, here's the blue cowl-neck sweater dress from Target. I really love this dress--it fits and clings in all the right places; unfortunately, it really only works from October through March.

Accessories are blue bow, silver jewelry, black hose and blue patent spike-heeled pumps. The shoes make my legs look great, but are not comfortable for long walks.

Something about the expression in the picture on the right really appeals to me. Speaking of nice expressions, how about this portrait?

More pics on Flickr; two more outfits to be posted, probably later in the week. I wanted to do four outfits today, but a necessary errand had to be run earlier than I expected.

Sissy By My Side

Here's a fashion-illo based cartoon I did a while back and am just getting around to posting:

Looks like I'll get one day for dressing this week; I'll try to squeeze in three outfits. Next week will be much better; I'm on vacation.

Halloween Cartoon

So, I was searching for some new comics characters to play around with, and just in time for Halloween, I had a brainstorm:

Octoberfest: Skirt and boots

This outfit begins a series of choices for the fall season. I've hauled out lots of my wool dresses and skirts, as well as sweaters. Here's the lovely white pleated blouse combined with the midi-length olive green wool skirt.

Nothing says "autumn" like boots, so I decided that the brown boots would work well with this skirt. Other accessories are a white print bow, silver jewelry and light hose.

Is this the best portrait from this week? I think so.

More pics on Flickr; next week's dressing still in flux.

Octoberfest: Tan Skirt

As I noted in an earlier post, I was looking for brown and/or tan clothes when I went thrift store browsing two weeks ago. You've already seen the tan knit shell I found; here's a great tan skirt from Alfred Dunner as well. I'm wearing it with my blue short-sleeved sweater (although it largely photographed as black this time).

Accessories are blue bow, gold jewelry, tan belt, dark hose and the neutral peep-toe pumps with the stripe pattern. (I may have to see about getting those stretched a bit--though they are size 11, they cramp my little toes some.)

I'm definitely getting better at portraits:

More pics on Flickr; one more outfit this week...not from this month's thrift store run.

Octoberfest: Pleats and Dots

I love pleated skirts...and I love polka dots...so how could I pass up this red-and-white, pleated, polka-dot skirt when I found it in the thrift shop. I'm wearing here for the first time, combined with my red camisole and white jacket.

Accessories for this outfit are red bow, black jewelry, light hose and red t-strap pumps.

This portrait is not as good as the one from the last post, but I still like it.

More pics on Flickr; I'll post the remaining outfits over the next few days.

Octoberfest: Shell and Skirt

Here's the first of the new purchases from the thrift store two weeks ago. I found the navy blue and white plaid skirt first and then went looking for a suitable top to go with it. In the back of my mind was finding more tan and/or brown clothes, a color palette I don't have a lot of. So this tan knit shell was a perfect choice.

Accessories are blue bow, pearls (I thought they went really well with this top), silver chain belt, light hose, and brown/navy shoes, another great combination with this outfit.

I like this portrait...the expression is very thoughtful.

More pics on Flickr; three more outfits to come over the next few days.

Inadvertant Twins

Another Archie/Archelle scenario, with Reggie/Regina added for extra spice:

And some good news: I will be able to dress this week after all! Look for shots of my new outfits (bought at the thrift store last week) starting Wednesday.

Tell-Tale Glow

I haven't posted one like this in quite a while, so:

Looks like any dressing in the coming week is still up in the air. Unexpected events the weekend may wipe out my only free day this week...but I'm going to try to avoid that. I'll keep you all updated.

Octoberfest: Denim and Pearls

The pink blouse is one of my oldest items, from Burlington; the jeans are more recent, from Fashion Bug. Are the pearls a bit much with such a casual look?

In addition to the pearls, I'm wearing a pink bow, black belt and black mary-jane pumps.

Does this portrait work as well as the others from this week?

More pics on Flickr; dressing schedule next week still a bit fuzzy.
