August 13 ~ Elegance
We close out the eighth month with this elegant suit-dress....
The dress is by Jenny, a thrift shop find in August 2011; the shoes are Predictions "Karmen" blue patent pumps from Payless in June 2013. Other accessories are white bow, blue jewelry, and natural hose.

August 12 ~ Flowers
There's something about a white blouse and a straight skirt that just says "feminine"...
The blouse is from the Lee Rider line, bought at Kmart in August 2008; the skirt is part of JCPenney's Worthington line, from August 2012; the shoes are Bongo "Ferona" red plaid peep-toe mary-janes, from Kmart in August 2010. Other accessories are a red rosette headband, scarf, red jewelry, and natural hose.

August 11 ~ Midnight Blue
At laat ~ new clothes! Isn't this gorgeous? It looks like I'm wearing the midnight sky!
I bought this midnight blue velvet dress with gold accents and a faux jacket at a thrift shop on Friday. The manufacturer is Teddi Evening. The shoes are Fashion Bug "Beestow" black patent pumps, from January 2011. Other accessories are black rosette headband, gold jewelry, and natural hose.

The lilac satin blouse is by Kathie Lee (a former Wal-Mart line), found in a thrift shop in August 2011, along with the violet skirt with the belt, by Just for Women;the shoes are Jaclyn Smith wine suede mary-jane pumps, from Kmart in August 2010. Apologies for the bad pun in the title of this post.
The green dress with the henley collar is from Route 66 at Kmart in August 2009; the shoes are Lela Rose "Emiliana" peep-toe pumps with stripes, from Payless in September 2011. Other accessories are a print bow, scarf, gold jewelry, gold belt, and natural hose.
I'm still experimenting a bit with the blonde makeup look.

August 8 ~ Perfect Portraits
First of all, the story behind this unusual photo session.
Remember two weeks ago, when I wrote "Events overcame the idea of dressing today..."? Well, those events required some repairmen to visit today, so my normal Tuesday dressing was impossible. However, late in the afternoon, I was able to do something a little different. I did just my makeup and threw on a blouse. Then, because I wanted to see how my new blonde makeup look worked, I did a series of portrait shots.

For the record, I'm using a new less intense eyeshadow color and a deeper, brighter pink lipstick. What do you all think?
