Five years ago this week, I bought and wore my first full female outfit in over 25 years. As my dressing continued (and increased), I decided to declare this "Dani's Birthday", and celebrated by putting together a slide show of my best pics from the year. Here's this year's review:
I'll be dressing again tomorrow; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

21 Days Until Christmas 2
This is definitely office wear and in season, but I don't know if it fits any other theme.
The blue wool plaid skirt is by Kayo of California, a thrift shop find in January 2012; the blouse is by Studio Works, found in the same thrift shop visit; and the shoes are Fashion Bug "Beestow" blakc patent pumps from January 2011. Other accessories are white bow, blue and gold jewelry, gold belt, and natural hose.
Glasses make me look thoughtful, I suppose:
More pics on Flickr; tomorrow we'll celebrate Dani's birthday with a return to dressing on Thursday; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

21 Days Until Christmas 1
The countdown continues. Over on Flickr, there's a friend who keeps choosing some of my pics to include in a group called "CDs Dressed as Wedding Guests"--I firmly believe she'll choose this outfit to include.
I haven't found many dresses in the thrift shops (as opposed to skirts and blouses), but this blue suitdress made by a company called Jenny in one of my best, from August 2011; the shoes are Bumper white patent sandals, found at Burlington Coat Factory in July 2008. Other accessories are white hat, silver jewelry, white gloves and natural hose.
As noted yesterday, portraits with hats always look good; in these, I think I really hit the 1940s glamour effect.
More pics on Flickr; another outfit later today; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

22 Days Until Christmas 2
A more mature look this afternoon...though the hat lends a youthful, jaunty tone, I suppose.
All I know about the tartan kilt is that I got it from a thrift shop in April 2011 (the tags identifying the manufacturer were removed); the white crochet top is from JC Penney's St. John's Bay line, acquired in August 2012; and the shoes are Bongo "Ferona" red plaid peep-toe mary-janes from in August 2010. I just realized today what a close match their plaid is for the one in the kilt.
Other accessories are the hat (of course), red jewelry, and natural hose.
Hats always make for nice portraits:

22 Days 'Til Christmas 1
Counting down to the big day, here's a look at what can only be called the sexy schoolgirl (is she naughty or nice?):
The blue jumper is from Converse One-Star at Target. purchased in October 2009; the blouse is from the Lee Rider line at Kmart, bought in August 2008; the shoes are Dollhouse "Margaretta" black pumps with metal heels from Shoe Dept., purchased in January 2010.
Other accessories are white bow, scarf, silver jewelry, natural hose and ankle socks.
One of my best-ever portraits in the black wig:
