And we close out July with one of my favorite dresses:
The red-and-black crepe dress is another from Kmart's Jaclyn Smith line, bought in March 2009; the shoes are Fioni "Hilt" red patent pumps from Payless in November 2009. Other accessories are a red bow, gold jewelry, and black hose.
I haven't done a "blow-a-kiss" portrait in quite a while.
More pics on Flickr; dressing resumes on Friday as we begin the month of August; and don't forget to choose the woman you'd love to be (details here)!

Black is the new black....
The black t-shirt with crystal trim is by Jaclyn Smith, from Kmart in December 2008; the black pencil skirt is from Fashion Bug in February 2011; the shoes are Fioni "Loveit" black patent pumps from Payless in May 2011. Other accessories are shiny bow, silver jewelry, black belt, and black hose.
The portraits this week continue to come out nicely:

Like this morning's outfit, very comfortable, but somewhat less casual.
The red v-neck top is from Wal-Mart's George line, one of the first things I bought way back in December 2007; the red-and-green floral crepe skirt is by Jaclyn Smith, from Kmart in March 2009; the shoes are Mossimo "Viveca Blingy" green suede pumps, from Target in February 2013. Other accessories are the red fedora (again!), scarf, black-and-white jewelry, and white belt.
Two more nice portraits:

A wonderfully comfortable t-shirt dress:
The dress is from the Converse One-Star line at Target from January 2009; the shoes are Mossimo "Velda" red baby-doll oxford pumps, also from Target in August 2008. Other accessories are red fedora, scarf, red jewelry, and red belt. Bare legs rule as the humidity increases again.
The portraits are so pretty, I'm posting both:

Lady in Leather:
The purple top with the embroidered neckline is by Naturally, purchased at Foreman Mills last month; the faux leather pants are by Dana Buchman, from Kohl's in April 2013; the shoes are Dollhouse "Margaretta" black pumps with metal heels from Shoe Dept. in January 2010. Other accessories are print bow, gold jewelry, and gold belt.
I think I may have overdone the crease shadowing on the eyes today, but I softened them up a little in the editing.
For the record, I did go to the locker today and put up a new rack, and cull some 20 or so items, mostly skirts that are too tight, and blouses I decided weren't really my style or didn't go with enough other things.

Lady in black:
The glittery black top with a scarf is by J.R. Nites Woman, a thrift shop find in July 2011; the black chiffon skirt is from Wal-Mart's George line in December 2007; the shoes are Fioni "Havre" two-tone black pumps from Payless in February 2011. Other accessories are a shiny bow, silver jewelry, and diamond-patterned tights.
I think I got the eyeshadow just right today, helped by the decision to digitally alter my eyes to a violet shade.
Today I went to my storage locker to pull out outfits for the next several weeks; I discovered that one of the racks had collapsed under the weight of too many skirts, blouses, and dresses. That has led to two things: 1. I need to buy a new rack; 2. I need to cull some of the clothes. I've decided that anything bought since January 2012 is safe, but I'm going over the other items and deciding what to send to Goodwill ~ definitely anything that's a bad fit (a few skirts that are too tight) and anything I think I just don't look as good in as I might.

They call me "Mellow Yellow"...quite rightly....
The yellow blouse (by Laura Scott) and the yellow skirt (by Queen Casuals) were found, serendipitously), in the same thrift shop visit in July 2012; the shoes are Fioni "Knotty" yellow canvas sling-back peep-toe pumps from Payless in June 2010. Other accessories are floral headband, scarf, black-and-white jewelry, orange belt, and natural hose.
For a more dramatic effect, I blended some black along the eyelid crease with the green eyeshadow today. Unfortunately, I spent so much time making sure the lids looked good, I forgot to use eyebrow pencil...so the brows are digitally enhanced, today.

Despite some improvement in the weather around here, I'm continuing to do the photo sessions in the air-conditioned part of the house, and in the early morning.
The white blouse is from Kmart's Attention line in October 2009; the olive green skirt is by Breckinridge II, a thrift shop find in July 2011; the shoes are Mossimo "Viveca Blingy" green suede pumps from Target in February 2013. Other accessories are scarf. chunky and silver jewelry, silver belt, and natural hose.
I made some makeup changes ~ I switched from the blue eyeshadow I'd been using to green. Overall, I like the look, but I think it needs to be a touch more dramatic for photography. The same company makes a black shadow I may try using to darken the crease. I also altered the way I do the digital eyeliner and mascara.
