June Is Busting Out All Over 14

My blue jumper combined with the pink blouse...a pairing I don't think I've done before. Over all, I think it works well.

The camera settings got jostled on these (didn't notice it until I'd sat down to edit them at the computer) and I almost dumped the whole set, but the poses and expressions were, for the most part, so good, I decided to live with the slightly fuzzy nature of the final look.

Accessories are pink hairbow, scarf, black-and-white jewelry, dark hose, and pink pumps.

More pics on Flickr; with any luck, two or three days of dressing next week. Over the weekend, I may work on some new photo manipulation ideas.

June Is Busting Out All Over 13

A very simple combo to start with today--a blue "work shirt" blouse and the nifty denim skirt...both among my earliest purchases when I returned to dressing. The result is, I think, both casually feminine and attractive.

Accessories are a blue hair bow, silver jewelry, scarf, white belt, dark hose, and the crocodile print heels.

When I first bought a blonde wig, I thought of it only as a lark...thinking my coloring really only lent itself to dark hair or red hair. But I'm surprised by how good I can look in blonde mode. (Admittedly, I digitally give myself blue eyes in these pics, but think of that as similar to a real girl wearing colored lenses.) In addition, I think I'm getting much better at posing for real portraits, like this one:

Apology Again

Apparently, Blogger is having a problem showing the poll gadget--it's not just here, a whole bunch of blogs have reported the issue. I assume it's being worked on. If it continues for too long, I'll probably just re-run this week's poll next week.

June Is Busting Out All Over 12

As I looked over these pictures, I realized--this is the mother of the teen-ager from this morning...dressed to meet with the school principal and explain why her son comes to school dressed as a girl. (In fact, I may do a "mash-up" of a couple of pics that tells that story!)

The dress is the lovely crepe frock from Kmart's Jaclyn Smith line, bought quite a whole back and still a favorite. Accessories are red headband, gold jewelry, dark hose and red t-strap pumps.

I don't know if it's the black wig or what, but something in these shots makes me look quite imperious. On the other hand, in this portrait, I seem very sweet and natural:

When I first planned out this outfit (yes, I plan these things, often weeks in advance!), I was going to wear it with white hose. Then, as I considered it, I realized how "teen-agerish" it looked and decided knee socks were a better choice.

This is a Norma Kamali t-shirt from Wal-Mart, and a checked skirt from Kmart. Additional accessories are a blue hair bow, silver jewelry, black belt, and black mary-jane pumps.

Of course, in such an outfit, I had to resort to my fave legs in the air reclining shot! And, for the finale, a nice portrait:

Dear Abby

Before we get to today's dressing and photo sessions, here's a tidbit from this morning's paper:

DEAR ABBY: Recently I was at a club with friends and ran into a co-worker. He was dressed in drag and introduced himself as "Glenda." At work, he dresses like a male and goes by "Glen."

Since that night he has been avoiding me and cutting conversations short, if not ignoring me altogether. Should I let him know I'm OK with his alternate persona, or let it be? I don't want to risk awkward situations. -- SYMPATHETIC IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA

DEAR SYMPATHETIC: I don't know how large your company is or how much contact you have with Glen. If the answer is it's a large company and contact is minimal, then let it be. If you have contact with Glen frequently, and his embarrassment is having an impact on your work relationship, then clear the air by letting him know that what happens after hours is his business and you do not gossip. Period.

Would that the whole world were as understanding as Abby, right?

June Is Busting Out All Over 10

This is the first dress I bought as possible party attire...not that I've ever gone to a party en femme or likely to! It's from Wal-Mart...and I've taken to wearing it with the wide red belt, for additional waist emphasis.

Additional accessories are a red headband, gold jewelry, black hose and red peep-toe pumps.

Once again, the seated images are helped greatly by the natural flow of the skirt. BTW, in recent days I've noted an inordinate amount of red and black in my wardrobe. Can't say why that should be...never thought of them as "fave colors" in the past. Do you girls have any particular color that predominates your femme clothing?
