Sissies: Born or Made? Essay #4, Afterword
"Some are born sissy, some achieve sissyhood, and some have sissyhood forced upon them."
That’s a paraphrase and parody of a line from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and I believe it is entirely true. In this series of essays, I will be exploring the idea that some males are sissies (almost) from birth, others develop into sissies on their own, and still others are made into sissies.
Afterword: Is Any Male a Potential Sissy?
Is any male a potential sissy? In my opinion, yes—although the depth to which he may succumb to the siren call of femininity differs. But it is clear to me that a substantial portion of the population is susceptible.
The evidence is in the popularity of media depictions of feminization, such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, the movies Tootsie and The Danish Girl. Each of these approaches and examines the subject from a different angle, but they all depict it in a positive manner. Other evidence comes in societal acceptance of events like “womanless pageants,” in which high school and college students cross-dress and compete. That these seem particularly popular in rural areas, which might be presumed to be more conservative, is another indication of general acceptance.
I believe that any male can be persuaded to masquerade as a woman or girl…and that the vast majority will find they enjoy it. A substantial portion will readily repeat the experience. Some of those who do will make feminization a regular part of their activities, and those activities will divide up along these lines:
But all of them get an erotic thrill from their activities—and that makes them, at the least, “latent sissies”.

A third or so will simply wear “normal” feminine attire—skirts and blouses—without any attempt to appear completely feminine. They simply delight in the feeling of feminine clothing.
Another third will go a step further: They want to be seen as an attractive female, and will adapt cosmetics, hairstyles and fashions that compliment their desire.
Still others see it all as a game, a sort of costume contest, and will wear outfits best viewed as a kind of fetish.
But all of them get an erotic thrill from their activities—and that makes them, at the least, “latent sissies”.

Sissies: Born or Made? Essay #3

Some Have Sissyhood Forced Upon Them
We now move to a different group of males…those who, by their very nature, are weak-willed and submissive. They simply do not have the strength to assert themselves. Confronted by a woman with the opposite nature, one who seeks to dominate and control her erotic partners, this male will quickly accept feminization—not because he desires it, necessarily, but because he cannot resist her superior will.
This woman, often referred to as a “mistress” or “dominatrix,” does not seek to make her partner into anything resembling a true female. He is not expected to “pass” as a girl or a woman. He is truly a sissy, forced to be a caricature of femininity. Often, even if he is a teenager or adult, he will be dressed, treated, and displayed as a very young girl—a child of seven or eight, perhaps even a toddler, in many cases an infant, complete with diapers. He may be presented as a “bimbo,” a sex-obsessed creature with overly emphasized breasts and seemingly little intellectual prowess.
He may be trained as a servant—the traditional French maid Is a frequent favorite. As such, he will be the subject of public exposure and ridicule. Indeed, his mistress will get great pleasure from humiliating him this way…and will tie his erotic pleasure to that same humiliation, so that in time he craves being seen and treated as the pathetic sissy he has become.
Physical discipline is almost always a part of this. The sissy will be subjected to spankings, often with observers. He may also undergo bondage—especially through the use of a chastity device. He may be locked into his feminine attire, so that he cannot change without assistance.
With this forced feminization, this is the ultimate sissy, the male who has been deprived of all masculinity.

Sissies: Born or Made? Essay #2
"Some are born sissy, some achieve sissyhood, and some have sissyhood forced upon them."

Some Achieve Sissyhood
A boy who does not meet society’s expectations of masculine behavior—who is not athletic and prefers quieter endeavors—will find it difficult to attract girls as romantic partners. This is not to say that he seeks male romantic partners; he Is usually firmly heterosexual. He wants a romantic relationship with a female—he simply cannot get one.
He usually has plenty of feminine friends who appreciate his gentler approach to things. They frequently share his interests as well—interests such as the performing arts (acting, music, dance) and the creative arts (writing, drawing, painting). He will come to admire (and desire) those girls who participate in his activities, while knowing they will never be more than friendly. He wants a closer relationship with these female companions and searches for a way to build one.

Eventually, his attraction transfers from their personalities and bodies to their appearance. If he cannot be their lover, he will be their twin. He begins to experiment with makeup and clothing, hoping to fit in with the more girlish activities by looking like them. In time, he has a secret stash of feminine attire…and he wears it in his private moments. When desire overwhelms him, he dresses as a girl and succumbs to the need for orgasm, masturbating to his feminine image in the mirror, or in photos he has secretly taken. By this time, generally in his early teens, he is definitely a sissy, preferring to present as an attractive girl. That’s a paraphrase and parody of a line from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and I believe it is entirely true. As he ages, the attire he wears will remain in the fashion of the girls he first tried to emulate. He doesn’t want to look like a woman; he wants to look like one of the girls he desired at the flowering of his interest in sex.

Sissies: Born or Made? Essay #1
Some Are Born Sissy
Let me be clear—I’m not suggesting there is a genetic component to being a sissy, or that it is an inheritable trait. I do, however, think that some boys begin the journey to sissyhood very early, possibly within the first 12 months of life. There are specific circumstances that can lead to this.
The first is being the “baby” of the family, the last child born—especially if he is also the only male child. As such, he is surrounded by femininity and experiences girlish things—clothes, toys, activities—as normal and desirable. His elder siblings, all female, will be his natural first playmates…and, as the youngest in the group, he will most likely be seen by them as a playtoy, a dolly to be dressed and posed.
A second is maternal domination. If the father is absent, or distant (either geographically or emotionally), the mother will come to be the dominant influence in the boy’s life, from a young age. This is very true in the single-parent situation, where all discipline and control is supplied by the mother, who will naturally be more comfortable dealing with a submissive and somewhat feminine child. In addition, the mother who is left to handle things alone will often turn to her own mother and sisters for support and assistance.
All this places the developing child in an overwhelmingly feminine culture and society. Is it little wonder, then, that he finds comfort and joy in girlish things? By the time he is pre-school age, and is beginning to act out what he perceives as his adult models—at time when most boys are pretending to be such figures as policemen, firemen, pilots—the boy in our scenario is, instead, dressing in his mother’s cast-offs and pretending to be a housewife, a waitress, or ballerina.
In other words, he is, by his own volition and through his early training, a sissy.
