May Dressing 1--Forever in Blue Jeans

Well, maybe not forever....

The purple top with the gold medallion is by Sunny Leigh, bought at Burlington Coat Factory in October 2014; the blue jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow, purchased in July 2010; the shoes are American Eagle "Javelin Jetson" black oxfords, from Payless in December 2013. Other accessories are a purple bow, gold jewelry, and black belt.

I really like these portraits; the eyes especially look good.

Three more outfits to come; please respond to the survey at the right (details here)!

May Flowers 2

Going casual in jeans:

The blue striped blouse is by Lineage, bought at K & G in September 2013; the blue jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow. purchased in July 2010; the shoes are Dollhouse "Margaretta" black pumps with metal heels, from Shoe Dept. in January 2010. Other accessories are red jewelry (including a new bracelet), bow, scarf, and white belt.

I think this is one of my prettiest portraits:

Rock October 10

..in a cute and casual cowlneck and jeans ensemble...

The red cowlneck sweater is from Kmart's Basic Editions line, bought in March 2013; the blue jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow style, purchased in July 2010; the shoes are Dollhouse "Margaretta" black pumps with metal heels, from Shoe Dept. in January 2010. Other accessories are a red bow, black-and-white jewelry, and black belt.

I did my eye makeup a bit differently today. I normally work from the bottom up ~ color on my eyelids, darker in the crease, and then white under the brow. Today I did it in reverse order...and I think the result is very attractive and more dramatic in photography. So much so, that I couldn't make up my mind which portrait was best...so here are both:

More pics on Flickr; a leggier look later today; and don't forget to rate the woman you'd love to be (details here)!

June Bug 14

Well, here's a slightly revised version of the outfit that was going to be the second one from last Wednesday. The black cami I wore that day was a body-shaping one and it simply didn't work being seen with the bra and falsies underneath. I bought a new cami that night and this is it. (I had, at one time, another black cami I like even better, but I can't seem to locate it!)

The belted white jacket is from Fashion Bug in March 2011; the blue jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow, purchased in July 2010; the shoes are Dollhouse "Margaretta" black pumps with metal heels, from Shoe Dept. in January 2010. Other accessories are shiny bow, red jewelry and white belt.

The portraits this morning were so good, I'm posting both:

More pics on Flickr; another, dressier, outfit later today.

Second Helping 18

"Three Days in Femme Clothes, part 2"

Sorry this took so long to get posted. I realized late yesterday afternoon that last night was my one chance to see some theater friends in a production they had directed or were acting in...so I "under-dressed" (cami and panties under shirt and jeans) and spent the evening there. It also means I only got two full outfits in yesterday.

More red turtleneck...this time an actual feminine one, combined with my femme jeans.

The sweater is by Croft & Barrow, purchased at Kohls in February 2009; the jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow, from July 2010; the shoes are Fioni "Hilt" red patent pumps, from Payless in November 2009. Other accessories are rosette headband, and gold jewelry.

A question about these jeans ~ are they too much "mom jeans"? I keep wishing they were tighter around my butt and hips. Should I consider getting a pair in a stretch fabric?

I like the makeup this time around a bit more...though I got a compliment on Flickr about the portraits yesterday morning.

More pics on Flickr; lots of dressing today, as well as poll results and maybe some Oscar blogging; and you still have a few hours to vote in that poll ~ please do, voting is very light this week again (details here)!

Shopping Adventure

...and a successful one, at that!

First, why this was an "adventure" ~ I went out on this trip wearing the following (from the skin out): waist cincher, torso shaper, pink panties, knee socks, green long-sleeve women's t-shirt with cowl neck, women's jeans, women's boots, and pink lip gloss. The only male attire was my fleece jacket (needed because wallet, etc. do not fit comfortably in the jeans pockets).

Along the way, I had fairly extended conversations with three female clerks...one of whom saw me quite close up as she fitted me for a wig! (If she had any doubts about my story of wanting it for a play, she didn't express them...even going so far as commenting on how the wig would look under stage lights.)

So, what did I get? The wig ~ I've wanted a short-style wig in something like my own hair color for some time, because I get so many compliments when I wear my own hair (as it gets longer) combed into a somewhat femme style. Costume shops don't have these, and the one mall wig store I tried seems mostly aimed at women trying to hide their gray hair. I knew of a boutique that caters to cancer patients and women with thinning hair, so I decided to try there. The clerk was marvelous...she had nothing in women's styles that worked, but then brought out a man's uncut/unstyled wig. I tried it on and it was perfect ~ a near-match to my color and very much like a longer version of the style I achieve when using my own hair. (FTR, I can't let my real hair get to that length for very long; in male mode, it becomes unmanageable.) She gave me a terrific discount on the wig, as well ~ letting me have a $125 wig for $50 (a bit more than I planned to spend, but worth it)!

Next I went to the mall and dropped off my wife's watch for a new battery. More on that in a bit. While it was being done, I stopped into a store called The Shoe Dept., which usually has some very sexy styles. This time they had these beautiful pumps, from Kevin Cole's Unlisted line, for just $9.99!

Then I went to Target. Although they were busy getting their post-holiday clearance going, I saw nothing in the dresses, skirts, or blouses that screamed "buy me", so I checked out the accessories. You all know I love hats...and I found this lovely cloche for just under $12. I already have a red fedora, a black cloche, a black wide-brimmed hat and a white wide-brimmed one, now I have one in blue! Checking out, I spoke for a bit to the clerk about the problem she was having with her sales terminal...and, again, no obvious reaction to my clothing or to the lip gloss.

Back to the watch kiosk, to pick up the watch. Again, a fairly extended conversation...and no reaction.

From this, I have two explanations: 1) Most sales people are oblivious to what you're wearing, unless you make it somehow blatant (bright red lipstick on a male face, perhaps); or 2) If they do notice, they just don't care.

Anyway, you'll see all of these ~ especially the wig ~ in the next few days. In the meantime, don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!

Octoberfest 12

So, as I said--the mornings will be black-and-white dresses. The afternoons will be slacks (save for one longer skirt) and tops, beginning with my girlish blue jeans and this satin blouse.

The jeans are Fashion Bug Right Fit Yellow style, bought back in July 2010; the lilac satin blouse is from the Kathie Lee line once marketed by Wal-Mart (I picked it up at a thrift shop in August 2011); the shoes are Predictions black pumps with bow from Payless in February 2008.

Other accessories are shiny bow, black jewelry, scarf, and black belt.

Both portraits were winners, so both are posted here.

More pics on Flickr; next dressing on Friday; and you still have a day to vote in the poll (details here)!

April Video

Here's a video of this morning's dressing:

Enchanted April 17

As promised, new clothes today! Monday was my male self's birthday (as opposed to Dani's "birthday" in December), so I treated myself to a visit to Goodwill, where I found a number of items.

The first is this orange/brown/gold tartan top. It's from Fashion Bug originally. It's quite sheer, so I had to wear it with a black camisole beneath. Next problem was deciding what I had here at home to wear with it and decided on the blue jeans, for a sort of clubbing look, I suppose.

Other accessories are hair bow, gold jewelry, and black patent pumps.

As usual, I took some portrait shots as well.

More pics on Flickr; more new clothes later!; and don't forget to vote in the poll (details here)!
